General Manager, (Buca Osteria & Enoteca)

Buca Osteria & Enoteca is looking for a talented, driven hospitality leader to become the next General Manager and join our team of culinary professionals.

As General Manager you will direct, coordinate and oversee overall operations, while working alongside the Chef de Cuisine in order to ensure consistency, quality of service and attention to every detail. This role incorporates a proven ability to lead a team and provide knowledgeable direction to the team.

We are looking for an individual with a refined business accumen and a thoughtful and creative approach to service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example; Inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the future
  • Builds and maintains relationships with guests, team members and senior management alike/managing expectations
  • Shows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine
  • Demonstrates high personal integrity, business ethics and takes every opportunity to promote the venue
  • Conducts training and development initiatives, as well as regular performance management and employee coaching
  • Tracking of sales, invoicing, and maintaining accurate records
  • Petty Cash Management
  • Conduct line - up with staff prior to each service
  • Participate on Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB procedures are being followed
  • Build relationships with vendors and suppliers with a strong focus on building partner relationships
  • Adhere to licencing deadlines
  • Fiscal and Financial control – conducting weekly financial reviews

Qualifications

  • Previous progressive management experience within a comparible restaurant concept
  • Experience in premiere dining environments
  • Self starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast paced environment
  • Strong business acumen
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management and/or equivalent an asset
